In this post, you’ll learn the difference between BookOm Solo and Staff. You’ll also have the steps to add a new member of staff within BookOm.
The Solo Option
If you don’t have staff, then all you need is the BookOm Solo option. The teacher option has everything that the studio option has, except the ability to add staff members. You can, of course, add your services.
The Staff Option
BookOm Staff is multi-staff supported. If you have BookOm Staff, you can add your staff, even if they teach from multiple locations.
Below are the steps to add a new member of staff (e.g. to your yoga studio)…
When you click “Staff” on the left-hand side of the BookOm dashboard, and then click “Add Staff”, you’ll see four tabs on the top right (see screenshot below).
The four tabs are:
- Details
- Weekly Schedule
- Special Days
- Holidays
Details Tab
In the “details tab”, you will enter the basic information of the staff member
Step 1: Enter staff member’s details such as name, email, phone number, and profile picture. The profile photo and name of the staff will be seen in the booking form.
Step 2: You will then select the location of the staff member. If a staff member works on several locations at the same time, then you can select all locations here with multi-select options.
Step 3: You can also include a short note about the staff member.
Weekly Schedule Tab
In the “weekly schedule tab”, you can build a special weekly work schedule for staff.
Step 1: Add the staff’s rest days, work hours, and breaks.
Step 2: You can also set up each day of the week. You mark the start and end times of each workday.
Step 3: If there’s a day off for the staff member, note it with the “Add Day Off” checkbox.
Step 4: If you want to add the break time, click on the “Add Break” button and save the start and end times of the break.
Step 5: If you want to create a custom timetable for your staff, enable the “Configure specific timesheet” checkbox.
Special Days Tab
In the “Special Days” tab, you can set up a timesheet for your staff’s special days. For example, if a staff member can only work on the second half of the day, you can add it in the Special Days tab.
Step 1: Click on the “Add Special Day” button and note the day, start, and end hours in the opening panel.
Step 2: If it’s needed, you can also click on the “Add Break” button for special days and add break times.
Step 3: If you need to delete a special day that you added, click the “Remove Special Day” button.
Holidays Tab
In the “Holidays” tab, you can note specific holidays for staff.
If a staff member doesn’t work on a particular day, click that day from the calendar in this tab. You can also record general holidays for your staff members within “Settings > Holidays” section of the BookOm dashboard. If, however, you want to appoint additional holidays for your current Staff, note them in this tab. Otherwise, it’s recommended that you select the same holidays in both the Staff and Settings sections of the Dashboard.

How To Search For Staff Members
After adding all the information about your staff members within the four tabs, you can search staff by name, email, or phone number.
How To Edit Staff Member’s Information
If you need to edit a staff member’s information, click on the “Edit” button when viewing a staff member.
How To Delete Staff Members
You can delete one or multiple staff. To delete one member of staff, click on the “Options” button and click the “Delete” button. If you want to delete multiple staff at once, tick the checkboxes by each member you want to delete, and click the “Delete” button.
